Code 10 and 14 Drivers

Introduction Role Responsibilities: Operate and drive various articulated and/or other trucks to transport goods, materials & equipment, with the relevant documents, over long distances Ensure cargo is secure, properly loaded and spread correctly over the axles Perform pre-trip, route and post-trip vehicle inspection Record cargo information, service hours, distance travelled & fuel expenditure Complete timesheets for Client to sign off Maintain logbooks Communicate with despatcher and supervisor Conduct daily safety checks on truck and trailer Report all defects / incidents to Supervisor or Manager On instruction from the Logistics Manager, drive truck to the load site, make contact with the client & await further instructions Follow instructions on where to deliver the load After offloading, ensure all tie-down equipment is properly packed on the truck Keep the truck and associated equipment tidy and in good working order Ensure that permits are read, understood and signed before departing from the yard / site(s) Comply with all regulations including safety and traffic rules Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent Valid drivers & PDP licence A minimum of 5 years’ experience in operating an articulated vehicle Advanced Driving course advantageous Competencies and attributes: Good communicator Customer service orientation Literate Numerate Attention to detail Must be trustworthy and ethical. Understand freight distribution principles Teamwork Flexibility
