DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Conduct tests and collect data on the Proximity Detection System and report accordingly. Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments and repairs. Facilitate systems, implementation and uptime by studying system requirements, ordering components and parts; completing installation and performing acceptance tests. Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components. Ensure the Proximity Detection System maintenance is conducted on time and according to schedules. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety codes. Perform physically demanding tasks, and moving and lifting heavy objects. Ensure a healthy environment, safe operations practices through compliance with all applicable SHE policies procedures with set standards,file all documents and completed job cards, relating to service and installation. Ensure that Proximity Detection System and interacting system is compliant to DMR requirements. Ensure compliance to the maintenance schedule for Proximity Detection System. Perform investigation on Proximity Detection System a required by client. Calibrate and test all equipment as per Original Equipment Manufacturer specification Train Operators on the Proximity Detection System and the different interaction on the system. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and requirements. JOB REQUIREMENTS: In depth understanding of relevant safety and mining legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act Mine Health and Safety Act Minerals Act Environmental Legislation Act Flameproof and Gas - Testing Knowledge Basic understanding of Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act. Sound knowledge of Coal and Hard rock operations and processed in South Africa, Engineering Codes of practices, policies and procedures. Knowledge on practices and new technologies relating to engineering (including electronic engineering) principals and processes. Candidate Requirements Grade 12 N3 in E lectrical E ngineering Trade Test in electrical engineering Valid Driver’s License Own transport Computer Literate Pass pre-employment medical assessment on allocated sites. Pass in- house technical test Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar environment. PACKAGE: Market related.
