Do you know the value of your old South African Coins? There are companies waiting to buy these vintage coins for up to R20 000. UNION Coins – 1923-1960 These coins vary in silver content. Coins minted 1923-1950 will have a higher value than coins minted 1951-1960. 3d (tickey) only the 1931 3d has high value. 6d – 1 shilling – 2 shilling – 2 ½ shilling – 5 shilling NB: (All the above coins minted from 1965 onward have no silver value, they are made from nickel.)
